01Can one abrasion result approve both the film and its print?+
No. Through-film wear, printed scuff and ink or coating adhesion are distinct questions. Identify the failure mode and specimen, then retain each applicable method, comparator, output and buyer-owned criterion separately.
02Are ASTM D5264 and ASTM D5181 results interchangeable?+
No equivalence should be inferred. They use different apparatus routes for printed-material abrasion evidence. Preserve the exact method, edition, configuration, specimen, reference and report, and resolve any comparison with the buyer and laboratory.
03Does ASTM F2252 prove abrasion resistance?+
No. It addresses tape adhesion of ink or coating to a flexible-packaging substrate and does not supply acceptability criteria. Abrasion or scuff performance needs its own applicable evidence route.
04Does chemical resistance prove that print will survive dry rubbing?+
No. ASTM F2250 and ISO 2836 address resistance to specified agents within their scopes. Dry mechanical contact, tape adhesion and real transport or line contacts remain separate decisions.
05Can a laboratory abrasion result predict transport performance?+
Not by itself. Define the actual pack build, mating surfaces, handling and distribution contacts, then retain the laboratory comparison and real-use or transport validation as separate evidence records.
06What changes should trigger review or requalification?+
Use the buyer-approved change plan for substrate, ink, coating, varnish, primer, adhesive, treatment, cure, printing, lamination, packing, transport and any change that can alter the relevant surface or contact history.
